Jennings has 11 points in Virtus Roma Victory

November 3rd, 2008 · 32 Comments

A quick recap from Virtus-Roma-Fan on Brandon’s play last game:

Brandon Jennings is quickly developing his game as he had 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist in 19 minutes helping Virtus Roma defeat Teramo by 21 points in the Italian Championship. Although Brandon had two turnovers, they were the result of great passes his teammates didn’t expect. Virtus Roma is now 4-0 in the Italian league.

  1. Still not impressed at all. And Virtus Roma- those guys you named on the previous thread have about as much talent as a one armed midget, so I don’t think Blow Job Jennings has much chance. For his sake I hope he doesn’t blow all that Under Armor money in his first year…but he will, and will be homeless in 10 years. That is the time-line and you Blow Job supporters, I want to hear what you say in 10 years when you find out that you are the ones paying his contract via the Barrack Welfare system.

  2. That was a racist and ignorant comment. Go ahead and vote for McCain if you want to. You’ll deserve everything that comes with it. It’s 2008. We’re all the same. Just different colors. As far as Jennings goes, he’s making millions of dollars, getting discipline and learning how to play the game the right way.

  3. Dave, stop being a jerk, i mean, 11 points in 19 minutes is pretty damn amazing.

  6. AYE DAVE YOU THE TYPE OF FAKE ASS PLAYER-HATER THAT WE GET RID OF WHERE I’M FROM. I MEAN, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE THAT IS SO FUCKING SPECIAL. SHIT, THAT’S WHAT I THOUGHT. BRANDON JENNINGS AIN’T EVEN WORRIED BOUT YOU. HE FOCUSED ON HIS NEXT DOLLAR. SO YOU FALL BACK AND SUCK A DICK!?

VITRUS ROMA DAVE!? IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT STAY BROKE!?

    Comment by JONATHAN — November 4, 2008 @ 9:32 am

  7. Jonathan- First off, I commend you for not being ashamed to demonstrate your 3rd grade education. Bravo, and I am sure they are proud of you at the center. Threats though? Come on fella, this is the internet. Give it up tough guy.

Anthony- Nothing in my comments have anything to do with race so try to get rid of your own underlying bigotry. Young kids who don’t graduate highschool regardless of race tend to blow money when they come into it, and the economic Welfare system that will be set-up in the near future by our next President Obama will bail people out like Brandon. This is the economic plan, blind to race my friend. Wake up, and try to get rid of your hate.

Virtus-Roma-Fan- I am not from Arizona, nor am I a Republican, but I do know this fact….Blow Job Jennings is playing B-Ball in Italy, where he will likely stay and have success because he has no chance at the NBA. That’s all, not hating, just providing the facts.

    Comment by Dave " The Meatball" Armistead — November 4, 2008 @ 10:52 am

  8. Anthony- Another point regarding your ill advised and disrespectful/racist comments. The Welfare system, and correct me if I am wrong, is built on the economic class system and is to benefit lower income families. Are you contending that low income families are of certain races and the Welfare programs will only be designed for them? Now that, Anthony, is disgustingly racist, and it sounds like you need to immerse yourself in cultures that are not your own and find that even if people come from different socio-economic classes, they still have the same values that makes this country great.

You sir need a lesson in humility. Young kids that blow big chunks of money should not be bailed out by the Welfare system, and I’ve met Brandon on a few occasions, and he will undeniable blow his young money.

  12. Score Keeper- Smart guy you are. How is it that it’s a fact that Jennings will be a Top 10 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft? Is it 2009 yet? What happens if your boy isn’t alive then? Will he still somehow get drafted? Tell me again how your beginning statement is factual. You are quite a dolt. What a kid accomplishes in Highschool is nothing. He couldn’t qualify for College, ran away to Europe, and now is struggling. Now those my friends afre facts.

    Comment by Dave " The Meatball" Armistead — November 4, 2008 @ 3:58 pm

  13. how smart you are by saying jennings “will” blow all his under armer money his first year, how do you know this? much like the texture of jell-o, wiggly and soft, your comments are without thought, substance, or reason.

yes i can not predict the future, but according to insidehoops.com, who picked jennings #4
    nbadraft.net, who picked jennings #7
    draftexpress.com, who picked jennings #7
    hoopshype.com, who picked jennings #7
    sports.espn.go.com, who picked jennings #5
    sportscity.com, who picked jennings #5
    nbamock.cm, who pickjennings #7

    my predictions have substance.

    afre? please fix your grammar.

  15. I think this discussion needs some more details on the way the game is on this side of the ocean.

Kids aged 18 do not usually get the playing time BJ is getting now in an Euroleague team. They usually get 0 minutes. They play for smaller teams. Even American players fresh out of college usually play one or two years in minor leagues or small teams before they come to play in one of Europe’s top 16.
    There are exceptions:
1)those european players who are 2.08 age 15 and so get pro at that age and by the time they’re 18 they’re well prepared weapons and play for big teams.
2)those players whose talent and skills brings them to play for a local pro team when they’re 16 so that they can grow there and get prepared for tougher competition (these are very few)
    3) Ricky Rubio

BJ is getting minutes on the court and learning. If last week he had played against Rubio he would have lost the comparison, but let’s wait and see what happens next year when they both go to the NBA. ;)

  16. Dave, I work in Las Vegas, I will bet you 1000 dollars Brandon Jennings will be picked top ten in the nba draft.

I will also bet 1000 dollars that Brandon Jennings will be in the NBA All-Stare game within 5 years.

So if you feel that strongly that Jennings will be a bust then this should be the easiest 2000 dollars you will ever make.

  18. No doubt Jacky boy, no doubt! The likelihood that I will meet up and bet with some random person from the internet is about 0%, but I’ll see you there! Why not make it a Million?

    Comment by Dave " The Meatball" Armistead — November 5, 2008 @ 11:49 am

  19. Sadly Air Traffic Controllers do not make that much, but people can and do bet on games and races all the time, I made a bet just yesterday on how big of a margin Obama would win by. So I understand if you are not a betting man, but if your in the area of Las Vegas during the NBA draft I will still honer my bet.

    Comment by jj ramon — November 5, 2008 @ 3:13 pm

  23. Dave, I can somewhat agree with you on your problems with Obama’s economic plan but it makes more sense to tax the rich more than the lower/middle class. What sense is it to give a person making 200,000+ a tax break over people making much less? As far as your comments about Brandon Jennings, you come off as a butt hurt Arizona fan who’s dreading this upcoming year without Jennings. You would be singing his praises if he was wearing an Arizona uniform. He has to do what’s best for his Family, not you or Arizona. The kid is getting good minutes and it’s early in the year. He still has 50+ games to go. By the end of this year, it’s looking like he may be in the starting lineup.

  24. FOR THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW SPORTS BRANDON JENNINGS IS LIKE CP3 AND DERON WILLIAMS IN 1 BODY HE WILL BE {GREAT} HE IS AS GOOD OF A POINT GAURD AS I EVER SEEN AND HES NOT GOING TO AVERAGE 30 POINTS BUT HE WILL GET THE JOB DONE CAN U SAY 17 POINTS 8 AST 3 STEAL 4 BOARDS HE WILL BE A MASTER OF THE GAME

  25. I could care less about Arizona, they are a bunch of Mildcats, I know Brandon from a few interactions, and I’m here to tell you that I will enjoy when he fails.

As for Obama…he has the power, and the ears of the house and senate, so hopefully good change can be done

    Comment by Dave " The Meatball" Armistead — November 6, 2008 @ 10:01 am

  26. why don’t u all stop bitching and wait to see what happens…Also you must realize that he is not struggling in the italian league because the coach is giving him restricted minutes to relive pressure…he is only 18 or 19…11 pts in 19 minutes are good state anywhere…also, in europe assists are given ALOT more rarely than in the nba…and just because inside hoops says hes a top 10 doesnt mean he is…teams might not take a risk on a gaurd that has skipped college and was not playing against future nba prospects…WAIT AND SEE then yall can tlk ur tough internet talk

    Comment by kwame — November 6, 2008 @ 11:10 am

  27. Brandon Jennings is setting a trend here. As long as the NBA continues to have this silly rule about having to wait until you are 19 years old then there will be more players like Jennings who will take advantage of the superior coaching and the chance to make real money. As far as this Dave/meatball fellow above, I suggest he seek counseling for these anger issues he is having. A couple of years from now Brandon Jennings will be a starting point guard in the NBA, where will you be ?
