#16 sorry I forgot to list some…quickly I remember Roko Ukic (Raptors) Belinelli (Warriors) Okur (Utah) Lorbek (CSKA) just the first names that came up to my mind…none of them has one tenth of BJ’s potential in them and all of them where developed into their best possible skills by mr Repesa. Please do not ask me, ask NBA scouts in europe who are always following him!

Dave your ignorance both amazes and saddens me. May I remind you that reigning NBA MVP Kobe Bryant perfected his game in Europe; and without Bryant team America would have lost in the olympics against Spain much like the way America lost to Greece in 2004.

In defense of Virtus-Roma, playing the “European” way got Team USA over the hump and Europe has produced players like Dirk Nowitzki and Manu Ginobili. Even though Jennings isn’t putting up big numbers, he’s getting discipline he most likely wouldn’t have received in the States. He’ll be a better player in the long run making this move.

yes jennings got alot of assists in the mc donalds game but he is no jason kidd, but it is a fair comparison. “IF” he continues to work hard on his shot i see him as more of a nash/iverson type of player. he will flouish under a fast pase run and gun offence, or a pick and roll

a role player is a player who does not need to take the shot to be effective, one who provides assists, steals, rebounds, screens, ect. to help the team.

these euro leagues are more competitive then the ncaa and the developmental league. coach repesa will develop jennings better then any ncaa coach can. jennings has his ball handeling skills down better then half of the pointgaurds in the NBA; and trust me i used to scout players. jennings only needs to work on 2 things, his shot and defense. kobe bryant perfected both in italy as a kid.

jennings “CAN” be something amazing “IF” he works hard.

I have to admit I do not know Renardo Sidney and Lance Stephenson well enough to have an opinion on wether they could benefit from a period in Europe or not. I’ve just read about them and seen a couple of Hl reels on the internet (though I’d love to have them playin’ in the court at the end of my street lol)

As far as Mr.Repesa’s teaching of discipline…I think he’s quite great (and so think basketball experts worldwide) at that.
If a young player cannot find a convenient place inside the Ncaa system I think he should consider Europe as an option for the following reasons:
A) He gets paid.
B) He gets professional training.
C) He learns how to manage pressure, problems, team relationships and media.
D) He plays with professionals (if he’s in a Euroleague team he sure does play at an higher level of competition than the NCAA)
E) He’s insured against injuries and in case, after recovering, has a good chance to land a good contract in Europe (this is also valid if he fails in the NBA).

Obviously there are plenty of “cons” also for this kind of choice:
- Adjustments to be made in attitudes, habits, way of living
- Pressure
- Fans (if you score 30 points but the team loses, they boo and throw paper balls at you…)
- Scouts’ attention is lower than the attention given to NCAA players, but that’s changing and if you have talent they will not miss you.

Brandon has a great talent that several scouts have recognized. His problem could be expressing his talent. He has a problem right now expressing himself in his current team. Obviously he has made a great jump from HS to a professional team and he need time. He’s been accorded some time to develop.

I understand that you only measure players by an “nba” standard, and I do absolutely agree on the fact that the US has a far higher standard of talents growing up in their territory.
But the ability fo Coach Repesa is undeniable. Coaching in Europe (i.e. considering the level of talent he’s been working with) he took the best out of the young players he had in his rosters taking them to an higher level (some of them even landed in the NBA).
I see that you consider Europe as an inferior testing ground in comparison to the NBA as far as the level of competition goes.
I agree with that. Brandon, if drafted, will have to prove everything in the NBA.

For the moment he is learning and trying to improve. He has a good chance to do so, playing again strong and experienced competition, learning how to manage failure and pressure and being helped by experienced professionals.

Is BJ ready for the NBA? I don’t think so
Has BJ an immense talent? Absolutely positive
Will he be an NBA star in 4 years time? Let’s see.

#10- Vitus-Roma- Don’t pay attention to the comment #9, that is an impostor “poster”…I did not write that, and unfortunately the impostor is obsessed with me. In terms of your insight of Jennings, I find it laughable that anyone would still consider him a SuperStar, or even talented. Your Coach Repesa, you said he develops players into champions…who are some of these players you refer to? Are they simply champions in the Italian League? If so, that is an accomplishment, but does not help Young Money Jennings get to the NBA. I agree that Jennings will be a fine role player in Italy, and that he will be worthless to the real league in the US. You guys can keep him..

Let me know of these great champion players you refer to, I need a good laugh

Virtus-Roma Fans, I would like to see Renardo Sidney and/or Lance Stephenson play for Coach Repesa. They could use the discipline. As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t mind seeing Brandon Jennings do another year with Virtus-Roma and be their feature player next year. Maybe Brandon could look after Stevenson and Sidney
