Brandon Jennings Decision Next Week

June 28th, 2008 · 20 Comments

Is Brandon Jennings going to Europe, the NBA D-League, or the University of Arizona? The East Valley Tribune has reported that Jennings has not received a high enough score. But Jennings’ attorney, Jeffrey B. Valle, has denied the report, saying the scores will not be officially released until July 5.

  5. I understand that NCAA oficials trying to raise the age limit is frustrating, but going to college is going to help mature and polish not only you but your skills. You’re only making it hard on yourself. Take the simple route. There are thousands of kids like me that want to be ni the nba. You have so much skill you could the number one pick in 09 draft. Dont make it hard on yourself keep it simple go to college.

  6. Go to Europe. It will be a good reality check for you. UofA is a good school but let’s be realistic, you’re not going to go to classes the second semester anyway. Go somewhere that everyone doesn’t worship you from the moment you step off plane for a change. plus you need to work on your passing/team play anyway and that’s what the European game is all about.

  10. Brandon… Go to Europe and do what you love doing and that is playing basketball and entertaining the fans. I will be the first to go and see/support you (got passport will travel :) ) Going overseas will be one of the best education you will get period. That is something that no college will be able to teach you.

    Love ya

  11. Go with the hard facts. The U of A basketball program has consistently put point guards into the NBA year in and year out. Mike Bibby, Damon Stoudemire, Jason Terry, Gilbert Arenas, and most recently Jerryd Bayless (even with the tumultuous season we had last year). We all know you’re one and done. Lute has one of THE MOST EXTENSIVE NBA NETWORKS of any NCAA coach. He will put you in contact with the right people and help make you the #1 overall pick in 2009. Not to mention the Pac-10 is the best conference in the entire country. You will be playing against the best athletes and best competition which will help better prepare you for the NBA.
With Chase coming back to U of A for his junior season, that gives you a wing man who is extremely athletic and can finish your highlight passes. Jordan Hill is a strong presence in the post and will also help you finish and set solid screens for you. That triple threat alone is what will make Lute’s offense high powered and your run and gun style will dominate the program. Stay committed to U of A so all of your loyal fans in the U.S. (especially us here in LA) can appreciate your special abilities and talents!

  12. Start a trend! Go to Europe…learn another language, experience life without the shamockery of the “student-athlete” label being smacked upon you! And most importantly grow up a lil’ bit and get PAID legally for that learning experience, instead of having to worry if that new suit your uncle bought you violates some stupid NCAA policy.

  13. By the way…no one can “help make you” a number 1 pick! That’s totally up to you and how well you play AND heaven forbid some “DERRICK ROSE” dude doesn’t come out the woodwork and steal your thunder! …Lute can’t save you from dropping to the 40th overall pick (see Chris Douglas-Roberts)!

  14. Good luck to you BJ, sounds like you are going to Europe from rumors that I have heard floating around the Drew League. Wish you would have come to Tuscon, wanted to see the show you promising us!

  15. I guess its your call, I’ma just go ahead and say as much as that publicly stating you might not go here after you commited here isnt doing your rep a favor.

On the other hand, it is your call. I lived in Europe half my life, and for somebody who loves the game so much I just entirely fail to comprehend even the thought of playing in one of the mundane European leagues where you’ll have crowds of 2000 people vs pretty much 10,000+ at most college hoops games in the US where everyone will see what you’ve got.

  16. Fans may worship you but the TRUE fans admire you. Admiration brings you respect. Your amazing passing ability is second to none. and at Arizona that play has been around for years. Even though great point guards have come out of the U of A, you can quite possibly be the greatest one. Europe is a great place to play but the reputation europe has is for people who CANT make it in America(like Ivan radenovic, no offense). You have the talent to make it huge in America. You have a golden oppurtunity to play under one of the best head coaches in the nation and become one of the best players as well. Dont pass it up. There are players out there who would kill to play under Lute Olsens wing. Take advantage of that and you are a number one pick 2009 NO DOUBT. Be smart. Best regards.
