The Elite 24 Hoops Classic Game was played last night at Rucker Park, featuring some of the top young basketball stars. Here is what CSTV had to say about Brandon Jennings game:

Brandon Jennings made the game flow but couldn’t do anything on defense. His shot was on point from deep and he made second-option passes scoreable. Keep hating on him but he keeps getting it done and did it tonight in the one setting where all the best were. An inflated 20+ assists from the man on the microphone was the total they gave. But the 17 my reliable stat guy gave me were worth it.

Rise Magazine, the host of the game, had Jennings finishing with 19 points and 23 assists, winnning co-MVP for The Goat Squad along with Tyreke Evans in a 169-164 victory.

CSTV has updated their Class of 2008 Post-Summer Rankings with a new #1 and it’s Brandon “The Proof” Jennings based on his consistent high level of play throughout the summer. Jennings was spectacular at the Pangos All-American Camp and was the best point guard at the NBPA Top 100 Camp and the Reebok U Camp . The former #1 ranked player, Greg Monroe, moved down one spot to #2.

The Boost Mobile Elite 24 Hoops Classic will be played Aug. 24 at New York’s historic Rucker Park. The game is put on by Rise Magazine and features 24 of the top players in the country, no matter what class the players are in for the coming season.

Brandon Jennings will be joined with the likes of DeMar DeRozen, Jrue Holiday, and Renardo Sidney. Admission is on a first come first serve basis so if you’re thinking about checking out the game, get there early.

Sure, it’s way too early to be making predictions and what not, but it’s always fun to see where the “experts” see players. Of course, this is also assuming Jennings even decides to enter the draft after one year in Arizona. My prediction? When Brandon decides to enter the draft, he’ll not only be the top PG in the NBA draft but will be closer to the first pick than the 10th.

The Arizona recruit may not be the best player in the country — he’s rated the nation’s No. 6 hoop recruit in the Class of 2008 by RISE — but he’s without a doubt the country’s most entertaining player on the country’s most high-profile team.
