Oak Hill Academy defeats Prep Charter and American Christian

Playing in the Prime Time Shootout’s first-night finale at Villanova, the Prep Charter Huskies were pounded, 99-66, by Oak Hill Academy, a perennial national power from Mouth of Wilson, Va. Oak Hill, which entered the week as the No. 2 team in the nation in USA Today’s Super 25 poll, was led by junior guard Brandon Jennings, who scored 29 points.

Oak Hill (Va.) Academy also took on American Christian (Pa.) in a tightly contested battle. With the score tied at 72, Oak Hill’s Brandon Jennings drove the lane and drew a foul. Jennings hit the second of the two free throws to give Oak Hill the win., 73-72. Jennings, who has verbally commited to USC, shot only 5-15 from the field for 14 points and had 2 assists and had 7 turnovers, but was aggressive on the boards with 6.

Warriors defeat Fairfax 70-54, Brandon Jennings scores 12 points and eight assists

Brandon Jennings, playing in front of family and friends, led Oak Hill, ranked No. 2 in the nation by Student Sports, to a blowout win over No. 4 City Section power Los Angeles Fairfax, at the Nike Extravaganza.

Jennings, a junior point guard who transferred from Compton Dominguez and has committed to USC, scored 12 points and had eight assists, while teammate and Duke-bound Nolan Smith scored 27 points and to lead the Warriors to a 70-54 victory.

Oak Hill back to No. 1? Brandon Jennings has 25 points in 30 point blowout

Brandon Jennings returned to Southern California and led the Oak Hill Academy (31-1) attack with 25 points, include 5 three-pointers, one of which was at the halftime buzzer from 25 feet out. Oak Hill (Mouth of Wilson, VA) defeated Orange (CA) Luteran, 92-62, at the Nike Extravaganza in Santa Ana, CA. The Oak Hill Warriors have a chance to move back to the No. 1 ranking after the current No. 1 ranked team, the Huntington Highlanders and OJ Mayo were upset.

“We still have 11 games to go…we still got to do what we have to do,” said Oak Hill junior point guard and future USC Trojan, Brandon Jennings after the game. “We’re going to take it game-by-game and hopefully we win the last 11.”
